naturally suppose that each one of them may have had a wife. I Corin thians 9:5 gives us a clue, “Have we not power to lead about a wife as a sister, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?” Q . Nampa, Idaho — “Why is Jesus called the Son of David?” A. Because there is a great deal of Scripture which does. See the Leviti- cal covenant promised to David in that a son of his would rule on his throne forever. For the family tree look at the opening verses of the New Testa ment. Here Jesus Christ is called the Son of David as well as the Son of Abraham. This is not an historical error or a chronological mistake men tioning David before Abraham. The purpose of Matthew, as a true his torian, is to show that God has not forgotten the promises to David. This is why He is called “the Son of David” first before the other. For further con firmation look at the genealogy in the third chapter of Luke (verse 31). Q . North Bend, Oregon — “Is it all right BROADCASTER monthly, you may have them come to your home or office automatically by being a member of the Biola Fellowship. This is a -group of faithful donors who invest monthly in the distinctive ministries of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, Inc. Specific monthly amounts are not set; this is a matter between you and the Lord. In maintaining this 53 year old work for the Saviour, we have found that faithfulness on the part of God’s stewards is the important thing. You are invited to become co-laborers with us in this vital testimony. The invest ment you make will bring you this publication monthly, hereafter, without your request. If you are already a member of the Fellowship and have received an extra

to have the women of the church go out and sell things (not in the name of the church), in order to earn money to support the church?” A. Whatever is said on a subject like this is sure to make enemies. We must say, with our own conscience, that in many instances it is all right to do this. Many women, oft times those with little money, have a real com passion to help the church. They have the time but that is all. This is not to give the impression that such things as bazaars and other type sales should take the place of systematic giving. God forbid that this would ever hap pen. Where such is practiced, churches have fallen into spiritual decay. They go from this to raffles, carnivals, and all the rest. The matter needs to be carefully studied as to the motives which are involved. Q . Fresno, California — “In John 14:12 we read of ‘greater works.’ Will you please explain what that would mean?” A. This portion of Scripture quotes the words of the Lord Jesus, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that be- copy of this publication, please pass it along to a friend so that he may also enroll in the Plan and receive these helpful monthly features from the broadcasts. Since all materials from the Biola radio programs are included in the BROADCASTER, publication is gen erally completed near the end of the specific month. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
