FRANCHETTE MONIQUE I. ABALDE

She is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Criminology at the PHINMA Cagayan de Or College. In April 2015, she took the Criminologist Licensure Examination and landed in top the 3. She pursued her graduate studies and completed her Master of Science in Criminology degree in 2018. Ms. Abalde is in her second year of Juris Doctor at the Ateneo de Cagayan, Xavier University. She is affiliated with the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines, Inc., and the Asian Criminological Society. Ms. Abalde has also presented several research locally here and abroad.

GERRY J. CAÑO, PHD

He is a criminologist by profession, with strong linkages among criminologists here and abroad. He is a member of the American Society of Criminology, the Asian Criminological Society, and is the convenor of the 11th Asian Criminology Society Conference. He is also a member of the International Society of Criminology, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Panel for Criminal Justice Education, and the Professional Regulation Commission’s Continuing Professional Development Council of Criminology. Dr. Caño is the Dean of the College of Criminology, PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College (COC). Through his vision and leadership in action, PHINMA COC has become a consistent producer of top-notch graduates who are often on the roster of successful board examinees. Moreover, COC is becoming more and more known for its remarkable board-passing performance under the continued guidance of Dean Caño. Under his management, COC has been bestowed the Center of Excellence in Criminology Award by CHED. He is instrumental in shaping the direction of the criminology education and profession in the country, consequently resulting in the passage of RA 11131, also known as The Philippine Criminology Profession Act of 2018.
