This newly developed book, crafted in line with the advent of newly developed curriculum, introduces the basic principles about investigation. This includes crime scene investigation as well as crime scene reconstruction. Essential concepts of arrest, intelligence, and search and seizure are also included. In addition, the different sciences closely related to investigation, such as fingerprint, ballistics, and question document, are also partly introduced. Similarly, the authors covered topics like ethics in investigation, investigative report writing, the role of police and prosecutor, and lastly, the basic concept of digital investigation.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
HADEMAR JOEY M. NEGOSA, MSCRIM
He is a civil service professional and a registered criminologist. He is also a licensed teacher and a certified security professional. In 2013, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Criminology degree from PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College (COC). In 2018, he earned his Master of Science in Criminology degree from the same college. Mr. Negosa is also pursuing his Master of Science in Educational Administration degree from PHINMA COC. At present, he serves as the Assistant Review Director of the PHINMA COC Review Center and the Program Head in Criminalistics, School of Criminology and Criminal Justice Department, PHINMA COC.
GERRY J. CAÑO, PHD
He is a criminologist by profession, with strong linkages among criminologists here and abroad. He is a member of the American Society of Criminology, the Asian Criminological Society, and is the convenor of the 11th Asian Criminology Society Conference. He is also a member of the International Society of Criminology, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Technical Panel for Criminal Justice Education, and the Professional Regulation Commission’s Continuing Professional Development Council of Criminology. Dr. Caño is the Dean of the College of Criminology, PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College (COC). Through his vision and leadership in action, PHINMA COC has become a consistent producer of top-notch graduates who are often on the roster of successful board examinees. Moreover, COC is becoming more and more known for its remarkable board-passing performance under the continued guidance of Dean Caño. Under his management, COC has been bestowed the Center of Excellence in Criminology Award by CHED. He is instrumental in shaping the direction of the criminology education and profession in the country, consequently resulting in the passage of RA 11131, also known as The Philippine Criminology Profession Act of 2018.
