A Course Module for Ethics is for a college course on ethics. The module is compliant with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 20, Series of 2013. It encompasses the different factors and contexts affecting one’s moral background and explores the different frameworks for moral valuation. It examines four major ethical theories, namely, utilitarianism, natural law, deontology, and virtue ethics. Coverage of the module includes theories by key philosophers, like Bentham, Mill, Aquinas, Kant, and Aristotle. ABOUT THE AUTHORS

OSCAR G. BULAONG, JR.

He obtained his bachelor’s degree in management and his master’s degree in philosophy from the Ateneo de Manila University. He earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Institut für Philosophie of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He is the executive director of the Gov. Jose B. Fernandez Jr. Ethics Center at the Graduate School of Business of the Ateneo de Manila, where he teaches leadership and business ethics.

ALBERT M. LAGLIVA

He obtained his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Ateneo de Manila University. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Philosophy at the Ateneo de Manila University. He teaches Philosophy of the Human Person, Philosophy of Religion, Philosophy of Nature, Ethics, and Eastern Philosophy. Martha Nussbaum and ancient philosophies count among his research interests.

MICHAEL NER E. MARIANO

He is a Ph.D. candidate in the philosophy graduate degree program of the Ateneo de Manila University. He is an assistant professor of the Department of Philosophy at the same institution, teaching courses in the Philosophy of the Human Person, Philosophy of Religion, Ethics, Philosophy of Science, Science and Religion, and Cosmology.

MARK JOSEPH T. CALANO

He obtained his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Ateneo de Manila University and his Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the Saint Louis University. He is an associate professor of the Department of Philosophy, Ateneo de Manila University, where he teaches philosophy of religion, ethics, and the philosophy of Thomas Aquinas.

He obtained his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Leuven,Belgium. He teaches in various seminaries. His teaching and research are focused on ethics, the philosophy of religion, ancient Greek philosophy, Plato studies, Asian philosophies, and philosophy and literature. JESUS DEOGRACIAS Z. PRINCIPE
