A Course Module for Art Appreciation
There are many ways to appreciate the arts, and we all have varying experiences of them. Art Appreciation is written by millennials for millennials and the younger generation. It is intended for all types of students from all disciplines; hence, one does not have to be an art or music major to be able to use this module. Lessons are interconnected and arranged progressively. Concepts are presented in a simple way to familiarize and endear readers to the subjective worlds of visual arts and music, enabling them to attain a certain degree of literacy and appreciation for the two fields. Experiential learning through various creative activities and exposure is employed aside from the usual lectures and discussions. This module is comprehensive and holistic in approach, and relates the arts and music to other aspects of human life, identifying their relevance to society and how they shape us individually and collectively as people.
