ABOUT THE AUTHORS

LYNN U. DONESA, PH.D.

She is an associate professor of tourism management at the Far Eastern University-Manila, where she has held positions as program head and internship coordinator. She finished two doctoral degrees, one in educational management and another in international hospitality management. She has presented research papers in the Philippines and abroad at conferences sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (APacCHRIE). She is a Certified Hospitality Professional (CHP) by the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Professionals, and she holds national certificates in tour-guiding and events management services from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. She is a freelance travel agent and has extensive experience in the resort sector. She is a much sought-after consultant, thesis panelist, and speaker.

LILIBETH C. ARAGON, PH.D.

She is currently the dean of the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila’s College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management. She has an extensive background in the cruise line industry, having worked onboard various fleets of P&O Cruises UK for years. She has also contributed to the continuous improvement of training regulations and competency-based learning materials and assessments for the ASEAN and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. Dr. Aragon is also an accreditor for tourism, hospitality, and graduate programs of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). She provides assistance to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as part of the National Capital Region’s Quality Assurance Team (NCR-QAT). She is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and a trainer at an American-based company American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI).

MARIA CRISTINA N. ASUNCION

She has been an industry practitioner for more than 35 years, having been with Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Abacus Distribution Systems Philippines (now Sabre), and Amadeus Marketing Philippines. To pay her alma mater back, she lectures at the University of the Philippines Asian Institute of Tourism where she earned her bachelor’s degree in tourism, and at Miriam College, Quezon City where she had her high school education. She was a part-time lecturer at the Far Eastern University-Manila for over 10 years. She is also a global travel business professional.

APRIL GRACE M. SACUEZA

She is currently a faculty member of the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management of the Far Eastern University-Manila. Outside of the academe, she has been affiliated with and has worked in different tourism sectors such as events, shipping, airlines, and travel and tours. Currently, she is taking up her doctorate degree in international hospitality management on a scholarship grant from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) at the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila.
