Technology for Teaching and Learning 1

This textbook adopts specific themes to highlight operational and strategic functions in the service-oriented industry. The concepts in this textbook, supplemented with the teachers’ practical experiences, are expected to benefit the students in delivering excellent customer service once they start their careers in the hotel and restaurant business. The approach to the end-of-chapter activities allows students to learn by doing and referring to the advantages and disadvantages of certain business tools and technologies. Students will eventually enhance their competencies, including their critical thinking, logical reasoning, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. To further appreciate the concepts of business tools and technologies, useful websites are provided, and applications and other online learning materials are suggested.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

RONATO S. BALLADO

He has a Doctor of Education, major in Instructional Systems and Resources Management from the University of San Jose-Recoletos. He is a faculty member of the University of Eastern Philippines and is the designated campus director of the university’s Laoang campus. He teaches mathematics and professional teacher education subjects. He has authored books like Problem Solving, Functions: A Textbook in Advance Algebra, and the Rex Book Store publication’s Basic Concepts in Educational Technology.

He has a Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education from the University of Eastern Philippines—Main Campus. He is a faculty member of the University of Eastern Philippines-Laoang Campus, College of Education, and is designated as principal of the campus’ laboratory high school. He teaches professional teacher education and other technology-related subjects. ALEJANDRO L. GIRAY, JR. He has a Doctor of Philosophy in Education, major in Educational Management from the University of Eastern Philippines-Main Campus. He is a faculty member of the University of Eastern Philippines-Main Campus, College of Education, and is designated as principal of the campus’ laboratory high school. He teaches research, science, and technology-related subjects. MARLO D. ALVAREZ He has a Master of Arts in Education, major in Elementary Education from the Naval State University, now the Biliran Province State University. He is a faculty member of the Biliran Province State University-Main Campus, School of Teacher Education. He teaches professional education and technology- related subjects. ROBERT P. JORDAN
