A Course Module for Child and Adolescent Learners and Learning Principles is a handy material designed to assist pre-service teachers in understanding development in terms of cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional domains. This module includes teaching and learning principles that infuse theory into practice. This module is grounded on the concepts of Outcomes-Based Education and learner-centered activities in response to the demands of 21st-century education and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This is also in line with the components of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers, as this module is directed toward an efficient preparation for pre-service teachers. ABOUT THE AUTHORS

THELMA R. MINGOA

She is a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Master of Education in Biology, and Doctor of Philosophy in Special Education graduate of the University of the Philippines-Diliman. She is a textbook writer, an in-service teacher trainer, and a faculty member with experience in teaching kindergarten to tertiary undergraduate and graduate levels. Her areas of specialization are special education, science education, preschool education, and professional teacher education. She is a member of various professional organizations in science and early childhood education. She is currently teaching at De La Salle University-Manila and has attended teacher training at Indiana University, USA; Green School, Indonesia; and Nature School in Kansai, Japan.

ERNEST LAURETA ESMERALDA

He is a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies (magna cum laude) at the Nueva Vizcaya State University-Bambang in 2016. He finished his Master of Arts in Teaching Social Studies (cum laude) at Saint Mary’s University (SMU)-Bayombong in 2017. In 2018, he became a Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) trainer, facilitating training for senior high school teachers. He also served as an academic coordinator of the SMU HUMSS Department before becoming a full-time faculty member of the School of Teacher Education and Humanities. He serves as an instructor at the School of Graduate Studies at the same university.

ABOUT THE COORDINATOR

GREG TABIOS PAWILEN, PH.D.

He is a professor at the College of Human Ecology and the Graduate School of the University of the Philippines-Los Baños (UPLB). He finished his Master of Arts in Education and Doctor of Philosophy in Education major in Curriculum Studies at UP-Diliman. He also completed his Master of Education in Curriculum Development at Ehime University in Japan. He received the Academic Excellence Award from the UP College of Education for obtaining the highest general weighted average for his doctorate studies. He also received the prestigious Pi Gamma Mu Award for Academic Excellence in Social Sciences and is a Phi Kappa Phi International Honor Society member.
