Management Science
Management Science intends to provide the basic concepts of mathematical tools that guide managers in making optimal decisions. Such concepts are taught to students studying business administration, economics, accountancy, entrepreneurship, and related courses. This textbook lays out the fundamental concepts that will enable students to understand how quantitative tools are employed to solve management problems in operations, scheduling, allocation of resources, and project management, among others. This book also covers the most frequently used tools vital to the overall efficiency of an organization: decision theory, linear programming, distribution models, network models, Markov analysis, dynamic programming, game theory, queuing theory (waiting lines), inventory models, and forecasting.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
MARIA ANITA A. RIGUERA, DBA
She is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Economics at the University of Santo Tomas-Manila. She finished her Master of Science in Commerce major in Marketing, summa cum laude, from the same university. Dr. Riguera obtained her Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA-Las Piñas. Before joining the academe, she already had vast experience in the industry as a supermarket manager for Manuela Corporation and as an entrepreneur. Her work experiences in the academe include being a former dean of ABE International Business College-Las Piñas, BSBA Program Chair of FAITH Colleges, and senior high school ABM strand head of FEU-Alabang. Currently, she is a part-time professor at the E.T. Yuchengco School of Business and Management, Mapua University-Makati, and the program head for BS Business Administration and BS Office Administration at National Teachers College-Manila.
