JUNE • Kruger To Open Its First U.S. Corrugated Plant In Kentucky : Montreal, Canada based Kruger Packaging has announced it will open a 400,000-square-foot box manufacturing facility in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. • MHIA Names Phillips Senior VP, Service And Opera- tions For NA : The Corrugating Machinery Division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America announced the assignment of Darrold Phillips as its new Senior VP, Service and Operations for North America. • WestRock Announces Chalovich Retirement: Atlanta, Georgia based WestRock last week announced the fu- ture retirement of Jeff Chalovich, President of Corru- gated Packaging and Chief Commercial Officer, after a 23-year career with WestRock. • Apex International Names A&V Canada As Part- ner : Donora, Pennsylvania based Apex International, a manufacturer of anilox and metering solutions, has announced its partnership with Anderson & Vreeland (A&V) in Canada. • Kampack Closing NJ Facility, To Open New Compa- ny In DE : Kampack Inc. is closing its facility in Newark, New Jersey, according to a federal WARN notice, po- tentially costing nearly 100 workers their jobs. • Green Bay Packaging Cuts Ribbon At New Mill: Green Bay Packaging held a ceremonial ribbon-cutting cere- mony at its new $500 million paper mill in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the first new mill to be built in the state of Wisconsin in more than 35 years. • Vanguard Packaging Names Wulf Vice President Of Sales : Kansas City, Missouri based Vanguard Packaging announced the appointment of Jennifer Wulf as the company’s new Vice President of Sales. Bobst Reports On Packaging Performance In 2021 Mex, Switzerland based Bobst reported that its financial performance was strong in 2021, with a big increase of order entries compared to 2020. Taking into account the impact of the COVID-19 lockdowns and the resulting 2020 decline, the net growth since 2019 was over 40 percent. North America, Southern Europe (France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece), Germany and Poland performed very well. We also saw good results across the South Amer- ican market. Although we are observing a slow-down in China, overall results from the country were still very pos- itive.
