Baldwin’s Portfolio Impresses New Visitors To Digital Packaging Summit The recent Digital Packaging Summit (DPS) in Ponte Vedre Beach, Florida in November was a welcome opportunity to reunite senior managers and business executives in label, folding carton, flexible packaging and corrugated printing and converting to explore how current and future digital production printing technology, software and solutions will impact their business and investment decisions. The summit, presented annually by Printing United Al- liance and Napco Media, was more alive with innovation this time around since it has been two years since the an- nual event was last held due to the COVID pandemic. Ad- ditionally, the opportunities to network and socialize with the oceanfront backdrop of the grand Ponte Vedra Inn in Ponte Vedra were second to none. As a supplier and a sponsor, Baldwin left DPS gaining as much insight from the November event as it shared by meeting with and learning from brands, end users and fel- low suppliers. Baldwins’ experts showcased its entire suite of data-connected technologies that work in harmony to produce superior labels and corrugated packaging. They range from corona surface treatment and UV and LED curing to 100 percent inspection and defect detec- tion/removal, to in-line color measurement, along with advanced real-time and historical process monitoring via Baldwin’s cutting-edge AMP Internet-of-Things (IoT) soft- ware platform. Finally, DPS set the stage for Baldwin to share the de- tails of its revolutionary Industry 4.0 platform, AMP IoT, which quickly connects the data from machines, accesso- ries, MIS software and workflow to obtain a holistic view of production and OEE, regardless of make, model or vin- tage of the assets. Printers and converters can access “re- al-time” production data, insights and analytics in the con- text of their customers and jobs, and set alerts to improve quality, productivity and minimize downtime. “Data and automation from connected machines and devices will drive the next great advantage in the graph- ics industry,” said Baldwin Chief Marketing and IoT officer Steve Metcalf. “At DPS, in addition to the proven advan- tages our leading technologies in surface treatment, cur- ing and inspection can offer printers and converters, we were excited to showcase what augmented intelligence and Industry 4.0 can do to drive new levels of OEE (over- all equipment efficiency) and quality in labels, flexible and carton packaging, and corrugated printing.” Baldwin Technology was founded in 1918 in Baldwin, New York, by William Geggenheimer, a pioneering print- er and press service technician. Fueled by more than 100 years of innovation, the company has grown to become a global manufacturer and supplier of process automation, equipment, parts and service for a number of industries. Baldwin also dedicates resources to maintaining and ser- vicing existing equipment. Visit baldwintech.com .
