symbolises the "dialogue" between the Heavens and the Earth; and the Infinite and the Finite 17 . The root proportions design thus holds a special significance in Islam.
Conclusion
Ancient people liked to design their architecture in a certain way using sequences. The major sequences they used were the golden ratio, Fibonacci sequence, terms in powers of two, and root proportions. Sequences are expressed in ancient and contemporary architecture. While many architects employ the Fibonacci sequence and golden ratio in times gone by, contemporary architects have modified its application leading to a difference in appearance between ancient and modern architecture. Furthermore, different types of sequences are employed to achieve various purposes such as aesthetic purposes, religious purposes and practical purposes. From the various examples discussed in this mathematical investigation, we understand that mathematics and architectures are closely connected and that mathematics is so prominent in our observation of these buildings in the world. So when you next go traveling, don’t forget to look around different buildings and identify if any architectural features have been built using sequences such as the golden ratio, Fibonacci sequence, terms in powers of two, and root proportions.
