CANOE ALLEY SPORTS RESULTS, EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH & MORE

So Long, Long Distance Season! What an amazing distance season! Mahalo to the amazing coaches that took the time and energy to impart the wisdom, passion and paddling power to all the crews! The lifelong bonds cultivated among the crews while battling the ocean and sun are strong, both in and out of the canoe. Looking forward to next year!” —Taizo Braden

“A culmination of 6 months training, 10 races, and highs and lows of all sorts brought us here to 2023 Henry [Ayau Memorial Race]. This season, though not perfect (they never are), has solidified the notion that everything happens for a reason. I took a leap, leaving the comfort of the last epic five years with Team Oceania, and planted some roots in the start of this team full of potential and youth. As with every team I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of, the friendships and brotherhood are what stand out most. Mahalo boys for an epic season of growth and opportunity. I’m grateful to be able to share the wa‘a with you folks and I’m ecstatic to see where we go next. We ain’t done yet! Special mahalo nui to Tom [McTigue], Jim [Beaton] and Ryland [Hart] for spearheading this program and giving us direction and purpose. Your folks’ vision is unquestionable and I’m stoked you were able to see it through.” —George Wilson, on long distance paddling with OCC’s Open Men’s team
