One of the important avenues to a company’s future talent pool is an effective intern program – and the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber is here to help. Intern OKC is back this summer to provide your interns with important skills and information to be successful as they transition from education to the workforce. This one-day program includes sessions from trainers from our region’s top companies, along with networking with fellow interns, and motivational speeches from OKC leaders. Lee Copeland, the Chamber’s director of talent and business growth, works with companies every day to tap into new talent pipelines. “Attracting college graduates, and ensuring their skills development at the outset, is an important component for many companies’ talent plans,” he explained. “Our event helps interns gain valuable tools to help them transition from college graduate to young professional, and network with other interns.” The training focuses on three areas: • Reinforcing professional behaviors and habits • Navigating networks and creating relationships • Developing a mindset of lifelong learning InternOKC 2024 is set for Tuesday, June 18 at the Delta Hotel by Marriott MWC at The Reed Conference Center, 5750 Will Rogers Rd., in Midwest City, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores is the event’s Presenting Sponsor. More than 300 interns are expected to participate this year. Employers interested in enrolling their interns for this year’s event can do so at www.abetterlifeokc. com/internokc.
