LEVEL 4 ENGINEERING MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN On the Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship, you’ll take on a more specialist technical role within an engineering or manufacturing organisation. You’ll learn to gather and analyse complex data, use problem solving tools (like root cause analysis), and support engineers by contributing to product design, process improvements, and cost control. Your training will also cover producing and updating technical documentation, such as quality reports, test specifications, production schedules, and engineering drawings. Through collaboration with cross functional teams, you’ll build your understanding of lean manufacturing
methods, financial planning, and project management. By the end of the apprenticeship, you’ll hold a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Engineering, be ready for roles such as production support engineer, quality engineer or process engineer, and be eligible for professional recognition as an Engineering Technician (EngTech). Our partnership with the Lancashire & Cumbria Institute of Technology (L&CIoT) means that we have recently been granted additional funding, and have purchased a suite of new industry- standard equipment including 3D printers, 3D scanner, robotic control programming, and a brand-new Digital Innovation Lab containing high-spec equipment and a range of software, ensuring that all apprentices have access to the resources required to develop and excel on their programme. What’s more, the demand for skilled engineers across various sectors ensures an array of opportunities for growth and advancement. As technology continues to advance at a rapid pace, the need for innovative minds, capable of tackling complex problems remains ever- present. By developing your expertise through an apprenticeship, you will position yourself as a valuable asset in the workforce, ready to make meaningful contributions to society while enjoying a rewarding and fulfilling career.
