Embarking on an apprenticeship in Accounting is a smart move towards a rewarding and stable career in finance. Whether you aspire to work for an accounting firm, a multi-national corporation, or a not-for-profit organisation, the skills and expertise you will gain during your apprenticeship will prepare you for success in roles such as an accountant, auditor, financial analyst, or management accountant. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will have the opportunity to apply accounting principles in real-life situations, using your analytical skills and attention to detail, whilst developing a solid understanding of how businesses operate financially.
On the Level 2 Accounts or Finance Assistant apprenticeship, you’ll build a foundation of accounting knowledge and hands-on skills for supporting a finance function. You will learn to record transactional data accurately, use accounting software, assist with reconciliations, and contribute to routine financial processes such as sales and purchase ledgers, and bank statement matching. You’ll also develop core professional behaviours such as attention to detail, effective communication, prioritisation, and working within a team in a business context. Over a typical 12-14 month period, with both on- the-job and off-the-job training, you will prepare for an apprenticeship assessment, and be well positioned to progress onto a Level 3 accounting role. On completion of this apprenticeship you will received a recognised AAT qualification.
