Meet the tutor
SIOBHAN LEVEL 3 SEND TUTOR
Siobhan has been teaching in post compulsory education for 16 years, after completing her PGCE at the University of Bolton in 2010. Her career started as an Adult Tutor teaching maths and English for a private training provider, before progressing onto teaching Functional Skills and GCSEs in Further Education. With a passion for community learning, and in particular working with young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and neurodiverse needs, Siobhan decided in 2017 to specialise in these areas of interest and completed an additional PGCE at the University of Chester where she was awarded a Specialist Teacher-Dyslexia Level 7 qualification. Trained with this new qualification, she moved into Teacher Training and has been a SEND
observing lecturer for 7 years, supporting teaching professionals to adapt their practice to meet the needs of all learners. Siobhan is committed to continuous development and with this in mind, she is currently enrolled on a Masters in Education, where she is currently involved with various SEND research studies. Siobhan is the course tutor for our BRAND NEW SEND Level 3 qualification starting September 2024! This course is designed for those working within SEND education and wanting to gain a recognised qualification and for those looking to teach in SEND. At the moment, we are the only college in the North West offering this course with the progression route to PGCE/Cert Ed.
