John David a native of Texarkana, attended college at the University of Mississippi and attained his Bachelor of Accountancy. Following his heart for missions he left for a year, traveling the world twice over. Upon returning he decided to forgo a job with a public accounting firm and return to take over as controller for his family’s business, Goins Plastic Source. John David sits on the board at Runnin’ WJ Ranch and volunteers much of his time at Williams Memorial UMC.
AREA OF INTEREST—Nonprofit Development and Economic Success
“Live locally, think globally.” This mantra is something I learned when I was at my best and pushing myself to be better and do better. Shortly after graduating from Ole Miss, I departed the United States for 18 months to travel the world for missions. My experiences abroad greatly impacted my life and I returned home with a calling to “live locally, think globally,” meaning that what I do in this city has the potential to impact the world. My time in Leadership Texarkana has only fostered this idea, guiding me to begin making it a reality. I hope to one day use my calling as a CPA in this community to consult with businesses and non-profits that are specifically geared toward missions.”
