Sarah Carpenter is a lifelong Texarkana resident and graduate of Texas High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University-Texarkana, Sarah spent several years teaching elementary school, before leaving to broaden her knowledge and skills. She currently works for Ledwell as an executive assistant. Sarah has been involved in many community activities and service projects in Texarkana. Recently Sarah joined the Literacy Council board and the United Way Community Impact. Sarah has a daughter, Anna Mae who is a bundle of joy.

“I will remain committed to service to others in the greater Texarkana area. Using my passion for education, I will continue to promote the importance of a quality education. I will work towards creating an equal opportunity for all individuals in our community regardless of the obstacle’s one might face. The following is a framing question my Leadership TXK strategic group formed when planning for the future of Texarkana. “Imagine if we had a group of leaders providing support to accelerate the advancement of educational opportunities for marginalized communities.” I will seek to equip others with the tools and resources needed to pursue the life they long for. I will continue to step up to aid in expanding growth for those in Texarkana, USA.”
