Helps for the Children Helping People in Need Matt. 8:1-17

TO EVANGELIZE RUSSIANS WORLD-WIDE PETER DEYNEKA reports from the Far and Near East of great oppor tunities and need for the Gospel among Slavic people who are now scat tered over the world. There is a great need for the Holy Scriptures in the Slavic languages NOW. If the Holy Spirit should direct you to have fellowship with us in spreading the Word of God among Russians and others around the world, make your checks payable to the . . . '

Memory Verse: “ As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men” (Gal. 6:10). God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, was always seeking those who needed His help, either in their souls or in their bodies. One day the Saviour came down from a mountain and found great mul titudes of people waiting for Him. A person with the terrible disease of lep rosy came to God’s Son and said, “ Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.” Others would not go near a leper, but the Lord Jesus touched him saying, “ I will; be thou clean.” Immediately the sick man was made well again. Later, the Saviour entered into the town of Capernaum. He was met by a ruler, a centurion, who told Him about a sick servant that needed to be healed. When Jesus said that He would come to the centurion’s home, the ruler answered, “ Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.” The Lord Jesus was greatly pleased with the man’s faith and told him to return home for his ser vant was well. Again, the Lord Jesus went to the home of Peter and found his mother-in-law ill with a fever. The Saviour touched her hand and healed her at once. That evening many brought their sick to Him, and God’s Son healed each of them. The Saviour might have become so tired of people that He would have re fused to spend hours healing their sick bodies and answering their questions and telling them about God. He knew that He ■could never make people want to love God if He was unkind to them or if He refused to help them when they were in need. Today missionaries heal the sick and help them with their buildings, and with their crops, and with many of their problems in their homes and their towns to win the love of the people so that they will be willing to hear about the Lord Jesus. Perhaps you Christian boys and girls may run an errand for a neighbor or help a friend in trouble or be espe cially kind to someone at school. The one whom you help will more easily be won to the Lord Jesus because you have been kind to him. Marks of a Good Sermon 1. It must have a message that rings true. 2. It must have variety. 3. It must have a definite theme care fully expressed. 4. It must have an introduction that is brief but interesting. 5. It must have a logical outline that gets somewhere. 6. It must have imagination. 7. It must be definite and concrete. 8. It must be profoundly and genuinely spiritual. 9. It must be brief, but not too brief.

Need Grows as Doors Open in Israel A missionary in Israel

ful we are to friends who enable us to carry on this relief ministry in the Name of Christ. A very earnest Hebrew Christian mother writes: “ With great joy we received your CARE parcel. Conditions in the land of Israel become continually worse and I really do not know what to give my children to eat. You cannot imagine how much your food packages help us. Our trials are many, but our faith in the Lord is unshakable.” Please help us alleviate the misery and dis tress of our Lord’s brethren. We must encour age and support these Hebrew Christians in their courageous witness for Christ in the Holy Land. We earnestly plead for your gift at this time of need.

writes of open doors among the hundreds and thousands of new immigrants. Amongst them are Hebrew Chris tians who face great hardships as shown by this letter: “ I am a Christian of H ebrew o r ig in and practiced medicine in Germany. but could not get permission to work there as a doctor. One year ago I came to the Holy Land. Here life is doubly hard. I live in a miserable camp. I cannot find a room, and am suffering much from lack of nutrition and hygiene. I cannot find employment and live in great poverty.” To help ease the economic distress of needy Hebrew Christians in the land of Israel and to encourage them in their Christian faith, we have been sending them CARE food parcels and other forms of relief. How infinitely grate

$10.00 will pay for a big nutritious CARL food parcel for a needy family in Europe or in Israel. $10.00 a month will support a Hebrew Christian orphan in our chil dren’s Home in Germany.

An up-to-date News Letter of our work in Europe and Israel will be gladly sent on re quest. Address communications to:
