Poutmasters fishing derby numbers up
prizes, including grand prizes of canoe and kayak. Avery Gauthier won the adult grand prize and his son Marc won the youth grand prize. Proceeds this year went to The Lung Association.

The number of participants in the annual Poutmasters fishing tournament was up considerably this year, said organizers. “We had 348 registrants this year,” said Mike Leman, one of the organizers, “and 362 fish were caught.” The average weight of the larger fish caught (small ones were not weighed) was 333.7 g. The largest fish was caught by Jeannine Beauchamp and weighed 675 g. Participants thought the cooler water this year made for better fishing.
