This n atu ra l touch to th e story speaks volumes. This woman had been drink ing of Living W aters, of which Christ said they should become in th e believer a “ fountain of w ater springing up into everlasting life.” Already th e living w aters were beginning to spring up, for th e woman was so full of Christ th a t she forgot what she came to the well for, and went to tell others of His wonderful grace. Many have thu s met Christ in th e way and gone off on a new errand. The disciples left th eir nets, to become fishers of men. The woman goes to carry th e w ater of life to others. Second th ing forgotten: Jesus had, in th e beginning of his Conversation w ith th e woman, said, “Give me to d rink .” Did He get His drink? There is nothing in th e record to indicate th a t any fu rth e r thought was given to this. Jesus had a th irst for souls th a t enabled Him any tim e to forget the th irst of a parched tongue. This is the one satisfaction we can all give to Him in re tu rn for what He has done for us. We can quench His th irst for souls. We can go to others w ith th e message of His dying love. Are we doing it? —K. L. B,
