for Jesus? (Shepherd—Door—W ater of Life— Bread^y-Light, etc.) Is Jesus preparing a place for you? Are you sure you are one of His sheep? Would you like to see Him? Would you like to live in th e house He is preparing? , Memory v e rse : “Let not your h eart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.” (John 14 :1 ). “ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the tru th and th e life; no man cometh unto th e F ath er, bu t by me.” (John 14 :6 ). * How many remember th e Passover feast, and w hat was it about? Jesus loved His disciples w ith His whole h eart and had told them about His death, bu t they did not understand fully w hat He meant. They had ju st finished the Passover Supper, in a room upstairs in th e house of a friend, and were talk ing about the tim e when Jesus would be King, and wondering who would be th e g reatest man in th a t kingdom. Jesus listened; finding they ■ had no idea what made a g reat man in God’s sight, He decided to teach them what God thought was a great m an; so took off His long coat, tied a towel around His waist, took a basin of water, and began to wash th e ir feet. When He came to P eter, he said, “Lord, you must not wash my feet.” Jesus said, “ If I do not wash your feet, you do not belong to Me.” P eter said, “If th a t is true, then wash my hands and my head.” •; “T h at is not needed,” said Jesus, “ for I am doing this to teach you disciples not to be proud if you w ant to be g reat.” Great men in God’s sight must be w illing to be servants of all. R ight pride will never do a mean thing, speak unkindly or h u rt ano th er’s feel PRIMARY K ate H. Haus

ings. W rong pride is trying to get a high place w here you are not wanted and getting mad because someone else got it, and can do b e tte r th an you. (Explain fully what wrong pride is.) Jesus tau g h t ano th er lesson. When they gave th e ir h earts to Him, He washed away all sin in th e ir hearts, and now they must be kept clean. He knew they would forget to watch sometimes, and Satan would soil th e ir h earts w ith some sin. A fter they had washed th e ir whole bodies, th e ir feet would get soiled by w alking barefoot and must be washed again, so th e ir h earts would get soiled by sin and they would need to come to Jesus every day to have th is soiling from sin, washed out, as He had washed th e ir soiled feet. Satan watches us very h ard after we give our h earts to Jésus, for a chance to soil them again, and make us believe th a t we are not Christians. So when we find we have done wrong in any way, let us go to Jesus and ask Him to wash out the sin Satan made us do, and make our hearts all clean again. Satan loves to soil our h earts w ith pride. He makes ug think we are b etter th an others, or makes us proud of our clothes, or makes us th ink we are very sm art, or makes us unkind to those who are poor, or some such thing. We need to be Kind, loving and gentle to all, rich or poor, if we will please, Jesus. (En large on th is.) Memory verses: “Humble yourselves in th e sight of th e Lord, and He shall lift you up,” Jam es 4:10. “ If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them .” John 13:17.
