How did Jesus show His love for us? (v. 13; 10:11). Do you love Jesus? Why? ( i John 4 :1 9 ). Did Jesus keep His F a th e r’s com­ mandments? (v. 10). Does Jesus w ant us to be happy (or joy fu l)? (v. 11). ’ If we love' Him and obey Him will it be easy for us to love other people? How can we show our love for other people? How did God show His love for us? (John 3 :16 ). W hat does Jesus say we must do if we are His friends? (v. 14). Will we all try to be little friends of Jesus? Memory Verse: “This is my commandment, th a t ye love one another, as I have loved you” (John 15 :12 ). * m Ju s t before Jesus left th e room where they had eaten th e Passover Supper, He had a long ta lk w ith His disciples. They were so sorrowful at th e thought of His dying, th a t He felt they ought to be comforted. He told them a won­ derful tru th . “When I go away from you, to My F ather, I am not going to leave you to fight th e Devil alone. I am going to send you a Helper. You remember th e Holy Spirit th a t came down from Heaven when I was bap­ tised, resting upon My head? I am going to send Him to be w ith you all the tim e th a t I am away from you. He will comfort you when I am gone, as well as I have comforted you. Then I have told you so many things th a t you will not be able to remember about Myself, and things th a t you ought to do, not only to show your love for Me, b u t to help others love Me also. W hat did He say those who believed on Him were? (1 5 :5 ). How can th e branches (those who belong to Jesus) bear fru it? Did you bear any fru it for Him last week? Lesson: We have learned th a t Jesus is the Vine, and we are the branches, and th a t th e branches are to b ear fruit. If you had a grapevine would you like to have it bear ju st a few bunches of grapes, or a good many? Does Jesus like to have us bear much fru it, or ju st a little? (v. 8). How can we bear “much fru it” for Jesus? (v. 5). Can th e branch bear any fru it if it is not a p art of the Vine? (v. 4). How can we prove th a t we belong to the Vine (Jesu s)? (v. 10).
