And Much Fervent Prayer. Will You Pray With Us? Ye are the salt of the earth.” Are you making folks thirsty for the Gospel? Are you finding hungry folks, hungry for the Truth as it is in God’s Word, so that they will walk many miles, through wind, rain and snow, in order .to. hear some of the blessed truths and the blessed promises which we find in the Book which He h^s given us whereby we must walk? The following testimonies given by. workers .and colporteurs of the Belgian Gospel Mission give cause for great thanksgiving and greater cause for more effectual fervent prayer, that many may

be reached with the Gospel while it is yet time: One of our workers in a very hard field, barren, cold and discouraging, writes this glorious testimony to the Powerful Word of God: ‘‘What a glorious thing it is for a soul, thirsting for the Truth, to find God is indeed able to accomplish what He has promised in His Word. He says in Psalm 112:4, ‘Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness. He is gracious and full of compassion

and righteous.’ How great our zeal should be to search out thirsty souls! “An old man in Winterslag died a few days ago. Since we opened our hall this man attended our meet ings and came in contact with the Gospel. He did not want anything more to do with the Roman Catholic Church, because he had experienced their unrighteous ness and he rejoiced in having come in touch with a church which was truly the Church of God. He died, but in the knowledge of his sins1being forgiven.”

However, this is not the only fruit reaped in this hard and barren land, where no Gospel message was heard previously; many old people, living in this neighborhood, are asking me to visit them in secret, speak to them about the Gospel and pray with them. When I see the ignorance and hunger of these people, my zeal increases to bring them in touch with the Truth. HUNGRY FOR THE TRUTH! THEY WALK MILES TO HEAR IT. At Sart, another hard field, our worker says: “Last Sunday, in spite of the cold weather and the snow, we,had 85 people listening to the Gospel. The courage of several of the people is remarkable; although a good 35 minutes walk across muddy fields, the women and children come from neighbor ing villages, carrying lamps with them to show the way in the dark. In spite of the hail, rain, and wind, they are always present, May the Lord guide them and encourage them and may their earn estness to know the Truth stimulate our zeal.” SPREADING THE WORD FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE So that none may be missed with the Good News, our worker in Liege tells how he and one of the colporteurs planned a systematic distribution of tracts telling the Way of Salvation:

“In just a week we distributed no less than 19,000 Gospel tracts, most of them being placed in mail boxes,; at first this may seem like ‘throwing them away,’ but it is not so. In Liege, with its surrounding country, there are half a million souls who sit in dark ness. We keep a record of the tract, place, date, etc., distributed and in six months we will follow this up with another tract; ouq name and address are stamped on each tract, announcing meetings in our hall.

“In Marche, a particularly difficult place, our col porteur visited approximately 150 towns and villages, making a house-to-house distribution of God’s Word; three Provinces were thus covered. Within a small radius he sold 2,400 New Testaments, 500 booklets and 90 Bibles, and this in a small town of about 4,500 inhabitants.” '

Do you want to stand behind this work with prayer, first fervent, believing prayer, then with your gifts as God may lead, so that scriptural tracts, Gospels and Bibles may be supplied to the enquir ing ones, hungry for the Truth as shown by the testimonies above? If you do, kindly send your gifts to our Treasurer, Mr. Chas. G. Trumbull, 1031 Walnut- Street, Philadelphia, Pa. For Canada, Mr. R. V. Bingham, 366 Bay St., Toronto, Ont. If you wish to be placed On our Prayer List, so that you may receive our Praise and Prayer Letter every two months, kindly drop a card to Mr. Trumbull’s address as above and we will be happy to add you to our Prayer Family.
