Environmental Initiatives: The following represents a sampling of how our commitment to this policy statement is manifested in our day-to-day business. 1. In the area of distribution we are constantly looking at ways to

5. In our cold-weather distribution centers we have eliminated the need for idling our trucks to warm them by using energy-efficient electric heaters. 6. All distribution centers now use electric forklifts. 7. Environmentally friendly cleaning supplies are used at all DON facilities.

reduce packaging for our local deliveries. We have moved away from the individual boxing of an order at some locations to the use of a bag on deliveries utilizing our own fleet of trucks. This reduces corrugated waste caused by extra packaging, and helps reduce the expense of waste disposal for our customers. We will look to implement this practice in all of our facilities in the future. 2. Each of our office facilities has a WOW program – We-Cycle Office Waste. We endeavor to maximize the recycling of waste office products through partnerships with our recycling vendor and continuous education to our associates. 3. At our distribution centers we recycle corrugated products and all other applicable bi-products from inbound shipments i.e. slip sheets, plastic retainer bands and pallets. In addition we have installed metal shelving and racks to minimize the use of pallets in our operation. 4. We have incorporated a number of building elements designed to save energy such as T-5 motion-activated lighting and the latest environmental control technology.
