ANCC FOUNDATION DID YOU KNOW? Daniel’s Run Evolution Daniel’s Run was named for William O’ Daniel, who in 1724 received a grant from Thomas, the Sixth Lord Fairfax, of 400 acres south of Accotink Creek and bisected by the current Old Lee Highway. The Run was originally a lazy, winding stream which flowed from its source at a spring near the current Fairfax City Hall to Accotink Creek. To learn more about Daniel’s Run, click here. The “In Memoriam” section of the ANCC website highlights the lives of Members and staff who have recently passed. If you would like to send a submission to honor the memory of a loved one, please contact our Marketing Coordinator by clicking here. You may send a biography, along with photos as well to be added to this section. To read about the lives of those who have recently passed, click here. In Memoriam

This month wraps CWGO’s 30 year of fun, fellowship and golf and what a great year it has been. We started the month with the annual WWOFO outing to Queenstown Harbor where after two days of fun and great golf, Kathleen Love was crowned Queen. Well done! The weather tried to spoil this month’s MJ Major but with a little adjustment to the schedule the weather and the course at Fairfax allowed for some fabulous golf and some great scores. In the first flight, Amy Dewitt and Tina Gwilliam tied for 2nd with Bev Winston taking 1st. In the second flight, Michelle Go Lai finished 3rd, Beth CWGO: CAREER WOMEN’S GOLF ORGANIZATION
Baynes came in 2nd with Kathleen Love bringing home 1st place. The low gross winner went to Jill Van Tine which left Susan Walthall as the overall MJ Major Champion. Congratulations to all our MJ Major winners! We will close out this year with our annual End of Year Dinner on 9 November at the Arlington Clubhouse. Members should register via the club calendar and if you have any questions, please contact Dianne Forburger at dwforburger@hotmail.com.
