Leading Special Operations at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office

Lieutenant Ken Park brings over three decades of experience to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and is now at the helm of Special Operations and SWAT Team. His career spans a range of elite law enforcement roles, including positions with federal, state, and international organizations. With a background in security contracting for the United States Department of State in high-risk environments, Federal Air Marshal service, and leadership roles in SWAT and fugitive investigations, Lt. Park is a formidable addition to the HCSO’s leadership team. Lt. Park's experience as a Federal Air Marshal endowed him with critical expertise in anti- terrorism tactics and close-quarters security. This role allowed him to hone his marksmanship skills, earning Top Gun honors. His achievements in firearms proficiency extend to multiple “Distinguished Expert” qualifications with various sidearms and rifles —a skill set he has applied directly as Henry County’s SWAT Commander. Under his leadership, the SWAT team and Special Operations encompass specialized units such as K-9, Motors, Aviation, Honor Guard, and Crime Suppression.

Lt. Park’s tenure as a Diplomatic Security Service contractor has provided him with a global perspective on threat response and protective operations, which has proven invaluable in training and developing the SWAT Teams tactical acumen. As a Federal Contractor, Park served as an instructor and Range Master, overseeing tactical firearms training and qualification for multiple weapon systems. Beyond tactical command, Lt. Park's commitment to excellence is underscored by his numerous commendations, including recognition from law enforcement agencies, the U.S. Department of Treasury, the Korean Embassy and South Korean General Consulate for his service and community relations. His dedication to public safety and his comprehensive background in law enforcement and security make Lt. Ken Park an exceptional leader in the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, where he continues to strengthen the capabilities and readiness of its Special Operations.
