DE-ESCALATION TRAINING In response to the evolving challenges in law enforcement, HCSO staff participated in scenario- based de-escalation training, emphasizing the importance of resolving encounters safely and effectively. ACTIVE THREAT SEMINARS Active Threat seminars were hosted at local churches, equipping community members with the tools and knowledge to navigate and survive violent encounters. WOMEN & WEAPONS This informative women-only self-defense class empowers participants by teaching them both armed and unarmed defense techniques, which ensures that women in Henry County feel confident and prepared to protect themselves against violent encounters. CRISIS INTERVENTION TRAINING (CIT) This five-day CIT course provided comprehensive training to officers to assist individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. This program emphasized de- escalation techniques and alternatives to confinement, ensuring compassionate and effective responses. CITIZEN'S RANGE PROGRAM This monthly Citizen's Range Program provided participants with expert instruction on firearms safety and responsible firearm practices, fostering a culture of safety and accountability within the community. Citizens enrolled in this course were able to overcome their fear of handling and shooting a firearm. 2024 TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS
