2024 TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS
In 2024, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office demonstrated its commitment to preparedness and professional development by hosting Survival Edge Tactical Systems’ Public Order and Riot Control training. This intensive program provided deputies with the critical skills needed to address civil disturbances while maintaining public safety, protecting property, and respecting individual rights. The training focused on modern tactics, techniques, and procedures for effectively managing crowd control and responding to large-scale public disturbances. Participants received hands-on instruction in forming and maneuvering squad formations, employing non-lethal tools, and utilizing de-escalation strategies. The course emphasized decision-making under pressure, teamwork, and strategic planning to ensure the safety of both law enforcement personnel and the public.
Hosting this program not only enhanced the skill sets of our deputies but also fostered stronger interagency relationships. Officers and Deputies from neighboring agencies joined the training, creating an opportunity to build cohesion and establish unified strategies for handling regional incidents. The collaborative environment reinforced the importance of communication and coordination during complex events. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to proactive training initiatives like this to ensure our deputies are equipped to handle emerging challenges. By investing in programs such as Public Order and Riot Control training, the HCSO continues to prioritize the safety, professionalism, and preparedness of its personnel.
