MEET THE PRESS Keeping Henry County Informed and Connected

EXPANDING DIGITAL AND MEDIA PRESENCE In 2024, the Communications Unit strengthened the HCSO’s reach through social media growth, real-time updates, and media collaborations. The team gained 2,100 new Facebook followers, reached 550,000 users across Facebook and Instagram (@HCSOGA) , and introduced the HCSO’s official TikTok , which generated over 50,000 views in its first month . In addition to social media, the unit shares breaking news, important updates, and interviews, working closely with local media outlets to ensure the public stays informed. PROVIDING TRANSPARENCY AND CONNECTING TO THE COMMUNITY Beyond digital engagement, the Communications Team ensures major HCSO events, operational milestones, and community initiatives are documented and shared, reinforcing transparency and public awareness. The team also produces key materials, including the Annual Report, while actively engaging with the community— both online and in person. Whether capturing moments at events, highlighting employee interactions, or showcasing the HCSO’s commitment to public safety, the unit remains dedicated to keeping Henry County informed and connected. The team extends its gratitude to Sheriff Reginald B. Scandrett and the people of Henry County for the opportunity to serve. Effective communication is essential in modern law enforcement, and the HCSO Communications Team plays a vital role in keeping the public informed and engaged. Led by Director TaMarlon T. Carter , the unit manages media, digital content, and strategic messaging to ensure the HCSO’s mission is clearly communicated. Director Carter’s expertise in leadership, organizational management, and public engagement strengthens community trust, enhances transparency, and aligns all communication efforts with the HCSO’s values. The team includes Communications Specialist Kaye Gibson , with over 15 years in marketing and public relations. She specializes in branding, messaging, and media relations, ensuring HCSO’s communications are clear and impactful. Production Coordinator Brian Williams , with 8 years of experience, oversees media production and photography, ensuring all events and initiatives are well-documented with high-quality visuals and video content. Public Information Officer (PIO), Lieutenant Dale Davis brings 25 years of law enforcement experience. He manages media relations and works with local news agencies to keep the community informed and connected. Together, this talented team ensures HCSO’s message is effectively communicated, both internally and externally.
