408. Attractive 1958 Topps Complete Set (494) MINIMUM BID: $2,000
The 1958 Topps set is a BIG set - the biggest Topps issue up until that date. Set in-between the company’s landmark 1957 issue and its popular 1959 set, the 1958s are underrated, the simplicity of the colorful designs and lack of key rookie cards have made the set less popular than some others of its era. However, the large player selection has created several collecting challenges: notably a large number of Hall of Famers and a large number of variations within the set. Presented here is an exceptionally strong 494-card complete set, carefully assembled with a large degree of overall sharpness. While a condition breakdown would technically be 5% NM, 13% EX/ MT, 27% EX, 30% VG/EX, 21% VG, 2% GOOD and 2% lesser, the cards are largely sharp, with the primary condition flaws related
to centering and the typical Topps quality control issues of the era. Surface and corner wear are largely kept to a minimum, particularly with the higher numbers within the set. While some upgrade opportunities exist within the set, building a complete 1958 Topps set in any condition is a challenge, and in this case, the hard work is done.
