Our Architectural Wood Doors include: ◊ Flush wood doors can be matched with any veneer. Wood Veneer is a natural material that produces unique pieces with different patterns and colors within the same tree. It comes in various species such as Cherry, Red Oak, White Maple, White Birch, etc. Our complete line of doors offer high quality design and standard colors which meet the industry’s standards. Custom designs and colors are also available for your exact needs and specifications. All standard color options and the vast majority of custom color formulations are GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD Gold Certified and meet or exceed AWI and WDMA Finishing Requirements for Architectural Grade Wood Doors. Due to variations in natural wood, the density, texture, grain patterns, and color tones may vary. Custom Door Options: ◊ High Pressure Plastic Laminated (P-LAM) doors are ideal for high-traffic commercial applications. They are available in a full range of options varying from colors, patterns, to wood grains which can achieve consistency in appearance from door to door. Plastic laminate is more durable and easier to clean than wood veneer. It also resists heat and scratches in a variety of environments. ◊ Stile & Rail Panel doors are suitable for any opening, panel configuration, or wood species. These vertical and horizontal pieces are bonded together to make up the outer edge of the door. It allows us to craft any style of door with high levels of craftsmanship and quality to our clients. ◊ Profiled doors we produce as an alternative to match the appearance of Stile & Rail Panel doors. Each door is individually carved using high quality routing machines with precision and design flexibility. ◊ Barn doors are commonly used as sliding doors which usually require oversized door panels. They are available in different styles that can accommodate small and oversized entries.

Wood Veneer Cutting Methods Consistency and grain pattern vary depending on the type of cut used. Each cut has its own unique appearance but also changes the performance under various common conditions.
There are four different cutting options available: Rotary Cut , Plain Sliced , Quarter Sliced and Rift Cut
Rotary Cut : This cut is achieved by peeling the entire log. This is the only cutting method that can produce full sheets of veneers. Rotary cut will yield veneer with a broad grain pattern and no plain sliced or quartered appearance. This process yields the most veneer per log and is usually less expensive than sliced veneer.
Plain Sliced : This cut of wood is also common and is known by its "slicing" method. The board is cut, turned 90 degrees, then cut again. Plain Sliced veneer is cut along the growth rings, and produces a cathedral grain pattern. It is generally the least expensive slicing method.
Quarter Sliced : This method produces a series of grain patterns that have a straight or striped appearance similar to Rift cut. Planks are cut by dividing the log into quarters, then live sawing the wood. This cut has a higher cost due to the manufacturing process and the lower yield of wood per plank.
Rift Cut : This is done by slicing a quartered log against its growth rings. Rift cut produces a narrow, straight or striped grain pattern without the "flakes" that appear in Quarter Sliced veneers. This is generally used with Oak and Maple. Rift cut method is the most expensive and least common since it is difficult to get these types of planks wider than four inches across.

Stile & Rail Panel Doors
Stiles and Rails are the vertical and horizontal wood pieces that create the frame of a panel door. With raised and flat panels in multiple species and materials, our stile and rail panel doors allow us to craft any style of door, while ensuring a high level of craftsmanship and quality.
Rail
◊ Stile - Vertical portions of a door that, when combined with rails, hold up the door panels and make up the outer edge of the door. ◊ Rail - Horizontal pieces of the door that join with the stile components to provide strength and hold the panels in place. ◊ Panel - Available with a Raised or Flat Profile, Panels rest within the stile and rail frame, allowing the door components the room needed to shift as the wood naturally expands and contracts. All pieces are bonded with adhesive.

Care and Maintenance
STORAGE AND HANDLING •
All doors must always be handled with clean gloves.
• Doors should always be lifted and carried, not dragged across one another.
• All doors must always be stored flat or carefully leveled supports. • Never store doors in damp areas, directly on concrete, or leaned against walls. Storage space should be clean, dry, and well ventilated. • Keep doors clean and cover with an opaque material which does not permit light to avoid discoloration. Certain wood species including Cherry, Mahogany, Teak, and Walnut are more sensitive to light unlike other species, thus required to be stored and handled with extra protection. • Doors should not come in contact with water. Do not subject interior doors to extreme heat and/or humidity. Prolonged exposure may cause damage. It is recommended to store doors in a building where temperature and humidity are controlled. Recommended conditions are 25% to 55% RH and 50°F to 90°F (10°C to 32°C). FINISHING • All surfaces must be finished equally. Wood is hygroscopic and dimensionally influenced by changes in moisture content caused by surrounding environment changes. • Doors should not be considered ready for finishing when initially received. Prior to finishing, remove all handling marks, burnishes, raised grain, scuffs and other undesirable blemishes by block sanding all surfaces with 180-220 grit sand paper or fine sanding sponges and spot prime as needed. Make sure not to sand through the factory primer. • Do not use steel wood on bare wood, rusty containers, or any other contaminate in the finishing system. Certain species of wood such as Oak, may contain extractives which react unfavorably with foreign materials in the finishing system. • The manufacturer is not responsible for the appearance of field finished doors. Field finished doors including primed doors, must be sanded prior to finishing. It is expected that the painting contractor will make adjustments as needed to achieve desired results. • All exposed, unfinished wood surfaces should be finished and sealed including the top and bottom rails. Cutouts for hardware in exterior doors must be sealed prior to hardware installation. • To reduce the chance of warping, avoid using dark colored stains or finishes on door surfaces that is exposed to direct sunlight. • During the finishing process, doors should be stood straight up or hanging. Do not lay doors down without equal support throughout the door to avoid warpage. Be sure that the door surface being finished is satisfactory in both smoothness and color before applying the next coat. Do not finish doors until a sample of the finish has been approved.

INSTALLATION •
The utility or structural strength of the doors must not be impaired when fitting to the opening, in applying hardware, in preparing for lites and/or louvers, plant-ons or any other detailing. • It is recommended to use two hinges on solid core doors measuring up to 60" in height, three hinges for up to 90" in height or portion thereof. Use heavyweight hinges on doors that weigh over 175 lbs. Pivot hinges may be also be used in lieu of hinges. Consult hinge manufacturer for more information regarding installation. • There should be a minimum clearance of 1/16" on hinge edge between door edges and door frame. And 1/8" clearance for latch edge and top rail. • All hardware locations, methods of attachment, and preparations must be appropriate for the specific door construction. Templates for specific hardware preparation can be obtained from the hardware manufacturers or their authorized distributors. • When lite or louver cutouts are made for exterior doors, metal flashing on cutouts is required to prevent water from entering the door core. • Pilot holes must be drilled for all screws used as hardware attachments. Full threaded screws are preferred when used as fastening hardware to non-rated and are required to fire-rated doors. Combination wood/ metal or self-tapping screws are not to be used on wood doors. • In fitting non-rated doors for height, do not trim the top or bottom edge more than 3/4" unless accommodated additional blocking.
• Trimming of fire-rated doors must be in accordance with NFPA80. • Doors and door frames must be installed plumb, square, and level.
• All fire-rated doors must be installed in accordance to NFPA80 and must be pre-fit and machined by Eagle Architectural Door or a licensed machiner. While it is not recommended to cut doors for openings smaller than those for which they are manufactured, licensed machiners may bevel the stiles at the rate of 1/8" in 2" so proper clearance can be maintaned.
