OUR STORY TJB Gelbvieh was founded in 1988 by Dr. Todd Bickett in Chickamauga, Georgia, at the foot of Lookout Mountain. As a large-animal veterinarian, Dr. Bickett first recognized the value of Gelbvieh cattle through their performance, disposition, and maternal strength. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for building superior Gelbvieh and Balancer genetics. From the beginning, TJB focused on elite cow families—purchases like FLK Hochger 108N, Vickie V, and the Lady Granite line laid the foundation for the herd and remain cornerstones of the program today. Just as important as the cattle have been the friendships formed along the way. The Gelbvieh breed has brought lasting relationships with fellow breeders, partners, and customers who share the same commitment to quality cattle. Today, TJB runs a fall-calving herd of around 175 cows, blending proven Gelbvieh genetics with maternal Angus influence to create cattle that are balanced, moderate, and built to last.
