1. ELIGIBILITY: All Welsh Ponies, Cobs, Half-Welsh and Part-Breds must be registered with the Welsh Pony and Cob Society of America, Inc. (WPCSA), or the Welsh Pony and Cob Society of Canada (WPCSC) or if under one year, must be eligible for registration. Only animals registered with the Welsh Pony and Cob Society of America, Inc. will receive points. An animal must be shown under its full registered Welsh number and name. Before an animal is issued a number or enters the ring, the Show Secretary must have a copy of the Welsh Certificate of Registration in the current owner’s name. If the animal is under on year and not yet registered submit a copy of the dam’s Certificate of Registration, the registration number and registered name of the sire and the proposed registration name of entry. Unnamed foals may not be shown. A breeding pony may not be shown in both Section A and Section B classes, nor may a cob be shown in both Section C and Section D classes during the same year. All leases are designated as such on animal’s Certificate of Registration. Leased animals being shown must present a copy of registration listing the lessee. 2. ENTRIES: Copy of both sides of the Registration papers and a current measurement card MUST accompany each entry. Exhibitor numbers will not be assigned until ALL paperwork is in order and any measuring has occurred. 3. MEASUREMENT: All halter animals over 6 years MUST present a copy of a WPCSA measurement card or a measurement conducted during the current competition year or be measured at the show. Measurement to occur on Wednesday, July 5th between 1 PM and 5 PM and on Thursday, July 6th, 7-9 AM. Measurement forms available in show office Halter entries will be measured first. There is no charge for measurement. Owners/lessees who are not members of the WPCSA must pay a $5 fee per measurement.
4. JUNIORS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO SHOW STALLIONS
5. DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIPS: Except in hunter divisions, ties will be settled by the flip of a coin. In the hunter divisions, the Championship or Reserve will be awarded to the animal that scores the highest in the over fence classes. 6.SAFETY FIRST: For animals in harness, animals must be fully bridled while hitching and unhitching. Removing bridle from an animal harnessed to a vehicle, or leaving an animal unattended while hitching, any- where on the Showgrounds will result in instant elimination and removal from the Showgrounds. 7.All Juniors in the Welsh division, while riding anywhere on the competition grounds, must wear properly fitting protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. Harness must be secured and properly fitted. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place.
8.Refunds. Refer to Item 17 in the Show Rules and Regulations.
9.Post Entries. Post entries will be accepted after closing date of June 26th, 2023. Entries may be submitted until one hour prior to performance. A $50 post entry fee will be assessed to entries received after June 26, 2023.
10.Food/Refreshment. Food and beverage will be available on showgrounds during horse show hours.
