Unfortunately for the senior men’s basket- ball team, made up of 11 and 12 graders, the opposing team proved to be too much for them. “We went to EOSSAA ranked #4 in Eastern Ontario at the “A” level,” explained team coach David Mackinnon. “We lost both our games but they were very close.” The Falcons lost their first game to the second ranked team 53 to 48. The St. Francis-Xavier catholic high school Falcons recently flew all the way to Elgin in order to participate in the annual Eastern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (EOSSAA) basket- ball championship.

LES FILLES DE L’ÉSCP SONT VICTORIEUSES !

L’équipe de volleyball des filles junior de l’École secondaire catholique de Plantagenet a remporté le championnat EOSSAA, qui avait lieu le 20 février dernier à Kemptville. Les Panthères ont dominé ce championnat, gagnant quatre matchs sans aucune défaite. Pour la finale, l’équipe de l’ÉSCP a battu Tagwi Secondary School 25-21 et 25-9 et St. Mary’s de Brockville 25-9 et 25-11 en demi-finale. Elles ont aussi gagné 25-8 et 25-11 contre Notre Dame de Carleton Place et 25-14 et 25-16 contre Granite Ridge de Kingston lors des matchs préliminaires du tournoi. Les Panthères ont joué une saison impressionnante de 27 victoires et une seule défaite cette année. — photo fournie
