EXPLORING CLAY: INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED Let’s take your clay skills to the next level! Bill will throw, alter, and build familiar forms using wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques, and show you how to combine the two for more complex shapes! Demonstrations will begin promptly 15 minutes after the start of class, and range in complexity to take up approximately 30 minutes. Recommended for students who have taken at least one wheel throwing class, no previous hand-building experience is needed. WHEEL AND SURFACE TECHNIQUES: INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED Are there throwing or surface decorating techniques that you’d like to perfect or that you haven’t had a chance to try? In this 6-week class, four accomplished instructors will focus on a different technique. Demonstrations will include lids, altering wheel-thrown forms, building large with wheel-thrown sections, decorative slip techniques, handles and spouts and lastly glaze techniques. Pull your sleeves up and dive into this skill-building class. The fee includes glazes and firing. This class is recommended for students who have taken at least two previous wheel classes. These pre-recorded fitness programs will be broadcasted on Burien Channel 21, therefore viewers will be unmonitored. Please select the most appropriate class and levels for you. Be cautious and keep helpers and/or assistive devices near. Modify or take a break if movements become too challenging to handle. Senior Fitness: low impact exercise for older adults. Exercises can be done with and without weights. Includes warm up, cardio and weight training, balance exercises, stretches and cool down. If you don’t have weights and would like to incorporate them into your routine, you can use household items such as canned food, stretch bands, etc. Falls Prevention Fitness – at home exercises to improve posture and maintain balance. Beginner (chair), intermediate (standing) and advance (floor) levels include everyday movements for muscle- memory that help with balance and preventing falls.
