Fascial Freedom Workshop Series Presented by Cheryl Boese, Holistic RN, RYT 200 (instructor of Holistic Self Care and Yoga classes)

Do you suffer from chronic pain, injuries that won’t heal, fatigue or illness that you have been told has no cure? Are you stressed out or tense because of things happening in today’s world? Are you unhappy about the way your body looks or feels due to “aging”? Do you want to feel your best and prevent injuries? If you said yes to any of the above questions, then the Fascial Freedom Workshop Series is for you. Fascia is a three-dimensional web of connective tissue that runs from the top of our head to our toes and fingertips. Healthy fascia is gel-like and mobile, gliding and flowing to provide structure, support and communication in our bodies. It permeates every cell, blood vessel, nerve, gland, organ, bone and muscle fiber in our bodies. Therefore, unhealthy or restricted fascia is an overlooked root cause for many symptoms. Fascia can become restricted due to chronic poor posture, shallow breathing, injury, trauma, inflammation, surgery, scar tissue, bracing against pain, repetitive use of a body part, and even psychological stress. These restrictions are areas of the fascial web that have become dehydrated, shortened, adhered or solidified. This can cause reduced blood and lymph flow, weakness, pain, limited range of motion, poor organ function, and poor immune function. On a cellular level, cell membranes can become blocked from utilizing oxygen and nutrients and from eliminating waste products, which creates a state of ill health. We all have some degree of fascial restriction in our bodies. Now for the good news; You can learn how to release restricted fascia in your body in this workshop series. You will be provided with tools and instruction that will allow you to become your own fascial release therapist. The series will start with the introduction: general principles and foundational techniques, after which you will be able to work on your own body with confidence. Additional workshops in the series will target specific areas of the body; see the schedule below. To attend the workshop, preregister and pay $15 at the activities desk. Eat at least an hour before the workshop, and hydrate well that day. Wear comfy loose clothing and bring a yoga mat and a blanket or pillow. Most of the techniques will be done on the floor, but may be modified to be done on a chair or standing near a wall. Once you have attended the introductory workshop, you may choose to participate in one or more of the remainder of the series, as you wish.
