Andrew Main Wilson shares his thoughts on the successful winners of the AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards 2022, hosted earlier this year
I t was my pleasure to welcome 358 virtual guests to the AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards in January, featuring 10 categories, 59 finalists, and 42 judges. The AMBA & BGA Schools network continues to manage magnificently despite challenges caused by Covid-19. Additionally, the students and graduates who were shortlisted as finalists have used their qualifications to achieve impressive results, in terms of the positive impact they have made to business, education and society. NEOMA Business School won Best Innovation Strategy in association with Barco for its ‘NEOMA Business School Virtual Campus’, which aims to provide a place where studying, teaching, meeting, and chatting can again take place, without the need to be physically present at the School’s campuses. IE Business School won Best Lifelong Learning Initiative 2022, in association with Kortext, for ‘Turn It Around – Alumni Engagement’. This is a virtual toolkit to accompany students and alumni, with free online learning, showcasing alumni making a difference in the world. International Business School Suzhou, Xi’an
Jiaotong-Liverpool University won Best CSR and Sustainability Initiative 2022 for ‘15 Ways in 15 Weeks’. This semester-long initiative was divided into weekly campaigns that drove sustainable and positive behavioural change at the School. International Management Institute (MIM- Kyiv) won Best Business School Partnership in association with Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) with its partner BookChef Publishing House. Through this collaboration, MIM-Kyiv brings an international agenda to Ukraine and helps businesspeople gain access to business books. Centrum PUCP Business School, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú won Best Culture, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative, in association with McGraw Hill Education for ‘Word of Women Academy, in which 650 women were trained on a free programme. EGADE Business School, Tecnológico de Monterrey, won BGA Business School Impact Award for ‘Sustainable Wealth Creation Based on Innovation and Technology (SWIT)’. It focuses on teaching and creating enabling conditions, managing the allocation of resources, and the
articulation of intelligent and inclusive synergies among stakeholders and institutions. It considers an integral system for management, and effective governance, with the objective of regional growth. We presented four awards to students and graduates and you can meet these impressive individuals from page 14. We also celebrated BGA’s third anniversary. Since its launch in January 2019, the network has grown at lightning speed – we have welcomed 195 Business Schools as BGA members and accredited 20 BGA Schools. Our AMBA-accredited network has grown to 291 Schools, and we continue to receive positive feedback on our decision to strengthen the quality and exclusivity of the AMBA network further, by limiting the network to just 300 high-quality Business Schools worldwide. As we welcomed our 60,000th student member just months ago, our network continues to thrive. Andrew Main Wilson, CEO, AMBA & BGA
