Straight Bore Housing - Slip Fit Bearing

There are three basic configurations that work well, depending on the misalignment and shaft deflection in the application: 1. Virtually NO misalignment This method allows for NO or very little shaft deflection and misalignment. Standard I.D. bearings will need tighter alignment than a ā€œCā€ series (compensated I.D.) bearing. Standard retention methods are acceptable. Example: snap rings, epoxy, etc. Note: If using epoxy, do not touch the bearing liner with the bonding agent.

This type of mounting will allow for minimum misalignment or shaft deflection. Both are very critical in the smooth operation of Simplicity bearings. A rolling element bearing may appear to initially operate in this condition, but it is operating in an extremely preloaded condition and will prematurely fail and in most cases destroy the shafting. Simplicity bearings will indicate the problem immediately upon installation by failing to move due to the binding condition.
