It is hard to believe we are drawing near the end of our winter high season when many will depart for cooler climates and summer homes. As I move around the Resort I see many familiar faces and lots of new faces, which tells me ORPS remains attractive to those who came years ago and to those who have arrived in recent times. What a testament to what this place is and to our collective ability to keep it fresh and attractive for all.

We are experiencing a challenging period with the Canadian dollar being deflated; our older Owners phasing out; and the general economy being stale. This moves us to refresh our attitudes and direction. Recognizing that we are an Ownership Resort, and our financial investment is substantial, we must preserve our advantage of Ownership. It should not be cheaper to rent here as compared to owning. We understand that many Owners were once renters and that will likely continue. Our property values have fallen and there are many lots on the market, which contributes to the downward pressure. We must continue with our philosophy that a differential advantage to Ownership is enhanced. ORPS ranks at the top of the list as a prime RV Resort and Country Club with abounding amenities. We shouldn't discount ourselves or underestimate our value. To improve our marketing, we plan to replace our inadequate website and update it with the latest product and technology that will insure the widest exposure of ORPS to reach far beyond our walls. This website is planned to aid owners in marketing their own lots as well as to assist realtors in doing their work. It will be utilized as a digital newsletter as well. It shall be user friendly and become a hub of activity and attention worthy of this prime property and what it offers. Please use it, enjoy it and share it. Each of us are the best promoters available to push ORPS. I encourage you to join in this effort to reinvigorate our winter paradise, Outdoor Resort Palm Springs! With the election of new Board members we say farewell to S KIP , B ARRY & R ON , a big thank you to each, and welcome new members B OB , C RAIG & D EDE . The members approved Pickleball to be played at ORPS and the details will be worked out to accommodate the rapidly growing racket sport. You also voted favorably to change our CC&R's to allow fifth wheels that are longer than 40 feet and built within RVIA standards to be permitted within our property. During our recent budget setting sessions, the Board cut funds for the printed ORACLE, among other things, which led the editorial staff to disband. We wish to thank them for their years of service and dedication and would ask if others among our membership would be willing to assist with a digital version so that our newsletter may continue in that venue. As you travel, be safe. Enjoy your summer and we look forward to starting the cycle again .
