The Covid-19 pandemic has undoubtedly accelerated the shift to a more digital world of learning. AMBA & BGA’s recent study of 238 global Business Schools, in association with Barco, revealed that more than three quarters of teaching (76%) in 2020 was scheduled to take place in the classroom. Of course, this wasn’t possible. With the onset of Covid-19, higher and executive education institutions had to pivot rapidly to online delivery and, perhaps not surprisingly,
only 28% of teaching was, in reality, offered face-to-face. This trend towards digital teaching and learning continued in 2021. Fast forward to 2022 and more flexible online and hybrid executive education offerings are now an expectation of many learners. Convenience and flexibility are key, especially as such a large proportion of executive education programmes are part-time and, therefore, have to fit in with executives’ busy
work-life schedules. Students have quickly become accustomed to choosing a programme which suits both their lifestyle demands and also their own personal learning styles.
