It is with great sadness that we announce that Florence Block, Executive Director of USGBC NJ, passed away on September 20, 2016.

She was an incredible lady who will be sorely missed. She was an inspiration to many. She made an incredible contribution to our organization and we cannot express how much we appreciated all that she did for the green community, not only in New Jersey but throughout the USGBC.

USGBC NJ’s Executive Board has stepped in to help run the chapter in the interim and appreciate our members’ support during this time.
As USGBC stated, “As Executive Director, Florence was a force to be reckoned with i New Jersey, working diligently to make sure that green building and sustainability were at the fore- front of the conversation in the state. Under her leadership, the chapter saw great advances in the areas of green schools, statewide green building policy, community resiliency, and LEED development… She was a wonderful advocate, colleague, and friend, and USGBC is so grateful for her years of service to the mission. She will be deeply missed.” We could not agree more.
