JHC_ Tesco Road Surface Upgrade Genco_Hove_17.03.25_ RAMs_R1

Scope of Works:

This project entails the systematic refurbishment and optimisation of external surface infrastructure within a high-traffic commercial environment. The prescribed works include:

• Comprehensive resurfacing and structural rehabilitation of vehicular and pedestrian thoroughfares. • Precision removal, resetting, and realignment of modular block paving and tactile guidance systems. • Advanced drainage augmentation, incorporating Hauraton D400 linear channel units to ensure optimal hydraulic conveyance. • Decommissioning and strategic installation of energy-efficient, impact-resistant bollard systems (Watts Urethane Flexi Bollards with integrated LED illumination). • Implementation of sustainable and low-carbon resurfacing solutions to enhance environmental compliance and reduce long-term maintenance requirements. • Reinforcement of existing subgrade conditions to improve load-bearing capacity and mitigate settlement risks over time. • Compliance with environmental and safety regulations, incorporating recommendations from existing Tesco infrastructure risk assessments. • Implementation of waste and material handling in accordan ce with Tesco’s existing waste management policy and statutory obligations.

SSoW for Groundwork Activities –

• Cutting/ penetrating the Existing Concrete Slab

The existing concrete slab will be cut using a K7000 ring saw, which operates on a 3-phase power supply and can cut to a depth of 350mm. A 3-phase power socket will be provided at the working area to power the saw. Prior to cutting, the work areas will be clearly marked, and barriers will be installed to ensure a controlled and safe environment. The cutting operation will begin with a thorough inspection of the K7000 ring saw and all related equipment. This includes checking the saw blade for wear and ensuring the power connections are secure and safe. The designated cutting area will be marked with high-visibility tape or paint, and physical barriers will be erected to prevent unauthorized access and to protect nearby workers from potential hazards. During the cutting process, the operator will wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, hearing protection, and dust masks, to safeguard against potential injuries and health risks. The operator will maintain a steady, controlled cutting pace to ensure precision and to avoid overheating the saw blade. Continuous monitoring of the cutting process will be conducted to ensure compliance with safety standards and to promptly address any issues that arise.
