Howdy Folks,
VISITORS WELCOME Bulls can be viewed at the ranch at 6920 69 th St SW, Elgin.
Hope you’re all staying healthy & enjoying the nice winter & had a great summer. We had a good hay crop & lots of grass. We were able to graze a long time this fall. It sure saved on haystacks. After the moisture shut off in July the crops began to hurt so some crops did better than others. I guess it could have been a whole lot worse. The bulls had a log bigger weaning weights this year because we didn’t weigh them righ t away. They were on feed for awhile until the damn dust settled down. They weaned off pretty good even with the damn dirt. They had Alpha 7 at birth & Ultrabec 7 HS & Bovishield Gold 1 Shot in the fall and poured with Clean Up II twice this fall & in January again. The bulls are being fed a ration to gain 3 pounds per day consisting of whole corn, distillers, corn silage, grass hay & protein mineral with Rumensin. The silage is dumped in the bunk & the rest fed by hand. Makes for gentler cattle. But this year I wonder; we still have a handful of kind of skittish bulls when you get them out of the big pen. We look forward to seeing you at the sale & we are grateful and thank you for your interest & support in our program. Again, if you would like a video of a certain bull we can take one on the cell phone and send it to you.
