Clubs Tasmania
Throughout July and August, Clubs Tasmania has been actively involved in running workshops and training sessions to build a stronger community club sector and ensuring its viability, sustainability, and overall success. By organising these sessions, Clubs Tasmania plays a vital role in equipping clubs with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to thrive in a rapidly changing environment. By keeping the sector informed, Clubs Tasmania ensures that clubs are up to date with the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices. This knowledge-sharing fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the community club sector. One of these workshops was alongside Scala Training Company, where we finished off our 13 RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) courses around the state. These sessions really focused on the regional areas of Tasmania and were really well received. We also held two Inclusion and Diversity in Sport forums, one in Launceston and the other in Hobart. We had some great organisations presenting – COTA, Paraquad, Baptcare, Migrant Resource Centre, Special Olympics and LGBTIQ+, as well as some great keynote speakers in Darryl White (former AFL Footballer) and Sam Bamham (former Paralympian).
Clubs Tasmania also paid a visit to King Island to attend the King Island RSL Sub Branch Commemoration service,heldforthe80thAnniversaryCommemoration of the crash of Beaufort Bomber A9-352 on 11 July 1943 that claimed the lives of the four crew members on King Island. This proved a great opportunity to visit all the clubs on the island and to get an understanding of the challenges they face.

They also cover areas such as roles of committee’s members, how to deal with conflicts, financials and forward planning. Moving forward Clubs Tasmania, in partnership with Asthma Australia, will be holding several educational sessions. As physical activity is a major trigger for people with asthma, and sports clubs are very likely to have players with asthma, knowing what to do in an emergency will prepare your club to support your members. All clubs are invited to come along to an Asthma and First Aid education session to learn about asthma and asthma first aid, while receiving a FREE Asthma Emergency Kit for your club. Lastly, throughout the month of September, Clubs Tasmania will be holding several sponsorship sessions. These are designed to understand your
