The ReliabilityAssessment,PerformanceAnalysis,andTechnicalServicesgroupisresponsiblefor providingvalue-addedservicestotheSERC entitiesbyengagingina collaborative environment through various technical committees and their subgroups. Mr. Karandikarhasover twenty-five years of industryexperiencewith SiemensPTI, Ameren Services,and Alstom.Mr. Karandikarhasa Master’s of Sciencein Electrical Engineeringwith aconcentrationin Power Systemsfrom Missouri UniversityofScienceandTechnology,Rolla,Missouri.Mr. Karandikarhasa BachelorofSciencedegree inElectricalEngineeringfrom Malviya NationalInstituteofTechnology,India.In addition,Gaurav is a seniormemberof IEEE and has a LeadershipCertificatefrom Cornell University.
Jerry L Thompson P.E. - Kestrel Power Engineering JerryL Thompson,P.E. receivedhisB.S. and M.S. in ElectricalEngineeringfromWestVirginiaUniversityin 2009 and2011,where hisstudyfocusedon electricmachines, powersystems,andcontroltheory.He hassincebeenemployedwith KestrelPower Engineering,with focuson generationcontrolsystemtuningandtesting,protectionand coordinationstudies,and modelingof Bulk ElectricSystem generation.He has performedmodelvalidationand associatedscopesof work on over 500 units/plants,is the leaddeveloperof Kestrel’sInverter-BasedResource(IBR) analysistoolset,is presentlyactingas a technicalleadfor NERC SAR 2020-06(MOD-026/027 revision),and is involved in IEEE 2800.2.
