Paul Simoneaux - SERC PaulSimoneaux,Jr. currentlyworks intheSERC ReliabilityAssessmentandPerformanceAnalysis(RAPA) groupas a SeniorReliabilityEngineer.HejoinedSERC inAugust 2020. AstheSeniorReliabilityEngineerin RAPA,he leadsthefollowingSERC workinggroupsofLongTerm,NearTerm andOperationalPlanningWorkingGroupsensuringeachgroup abides by the NERC/SERC Delegation Agreement.am BeforejoiningSERC, Paul was theManager ofTransmissionOperationalPlanningatEntergy(since2014),where he managedtheworkgroupresponsibleforprovidingtechnical supporttoreal-timeoperationsstaffat theTransmissionControlCenters(TCCs). This supportisaccomplishedthroughthepreparationofreliabilitypower flowmodelsand corresponding real-time, next-day and forward-looking analyses, coordination of planned transmission outages, voltage stability analysis, development of operating guides and localarea securityanalysis.The Manager, TransmissionOperationalPlanningprovidesinputto regulatory/compliancefilingsin supportof new businesspracticesfor Transmission Operationsandensuresthattheworkgroupprocessesareincompliancewith allFERC, NERC, andSERC standards/requirements. Paul hasmore than 20 years of electricutilityexperience,primarilyin transmissionoperations,planning,assetmanagementand relaydesign. Priorto Entergy,Paul worked forWaldemarS Nelsonin New Orleans,LAwhere he providedengineeringservicesto the oiland gas industry. He hasa bachelor’sdegreein electricalengineeringfrom the Universityof New Orleans.He’s a memberof the InstituteofElectricaland ElectronicsEngineers,Inc.and is a registered professional engineer in Louisiana. Richard Becker - SERC RichardBeckeris the SeniorProgramManager ofEngineeringwith SERC ReliabilityCorporation.The Engineeringprogramat SERC promotesthe reliabilityand adequacy ofthe bulk power systemthoughcollaborationin the areasof planning,engineeringandreliabilityassessment.Mr. Beckerhasbeenat SERC since2019.He has also worked at Florida Power and Light, Lakeland Electric and the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council. Mr. Becker has over 21 years of industry experience in the areas of distribution design and planning, transmission planning and Regional reliability assessment. Mr. Becker has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida, with a focus on strategic and risk management. Mr. Becker received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of South Florida.
