Folks, it is not worth it. Getting caught not only jeopardizes the certification you are trying to achieve, but it could also result in losing any other BICSI certification you may have already achieved. Every candidate who applies to take a BICSI certification exam must read, agree to, and adhere to the BICSI Code of Ethics and Professional Obligations . Each certification exam candidate is informed and exposed to this requirement twice before they take the exam: once during the application process and again right before taking the exam. Every BICSI credential holder must also reaffirm their commitment to the Code when they apply for recertification. It is essential that BICSI credential holders always exhibit the highest principles of ethical and professional behavior. In closing, each one of us, whether a BICSI member, a BICSI credential holder, a BICSI volunteer, or a BICSI employee, must exhibit the core values of the association: integrity, service, and excellence. The core value of integrity defines who we are as a professional association, and the qualities of honesty and strong moral principles that define that value are part of the reason that BICSI credential holders are recognized worldwide and trusted for their superior work. As BICSI representatives, we must all strive to make integrity a daily practice through service above self with excellence underpinning everything we do to advance the ICT profession. Remember: Cheating has a high likelihood of detection, and when fraudsters and violators are detected, their consequences will be dire and may result in lifetime censure. Don’t risk your career – especially when BICSI offers the tools to help you succeed! If you know of suspicious activity, send tips to: credentialing@BICSI.org.
This letter serves as a reminder to all BICSI members and credential holders to not risk your ICT career and livelihood by cheating on your industry credentials. BICSI certifications are highly valued in the ICT industry and among the global community of ICT professionals and their clients. It isn’t worth the risk to cheat and never be eligible to hold a BICSI certification … ever. Instead, study hard, thoroughly prepare, and when you are ready, attempt the exam. Prove you are the elite in the ICT profession! BICSI employs highly effective security strategies specifically designed to detect test integrity. We apply many detection techniques to identify suspicious activity on our certification exams that have proven to pinpoint cheating. Our techniques include the active use of various surveillance methods including AI, proctors, and data analysis that have successfully detected multiple individuals attempting to cheat on BICSI certification exams. BICSI and its exam partner take exam integrity very seriously. In addition to identifying suspicious testers, we also proactively work to protect exam integrity by thoroughly investigating suspicious activities and exam results through other methods. Most recently, a test center was caught running a collusion scheme resulting in that test center being permanently barred from offering BICSI exams. Other recent cases of individuals seeking to cheat on exams included testing candidates hiring proxy test-takers to take the exam on their behalf. Through our exam integrity detection methodologies, we recently concluded a thorough investigation that substantiated these unscrupulous actions, and the candidates have all been permanently banned from taking any BICSI exam or holding a BICSI membership.
