BYLAWS Section 2. Honorary for Life Members. The Board of Directors may extend honorary membership for life to anyone who has performed a great service for our Country or the benefit of Cherry Hills Country Club, or who holds high public office or place of prestige in the community. Section 3. Resident Members. Any person who is at least 25 years of age is eligible to become a Resident Member. A Resident Member who moves his or her residence outside the State of Colorado may retain such Resident Membership status or, upon giving written notice to the Secretary, may elect to become a Non-Resident Member, with the approval of the Board of Directors. If a Member who has elected to become a Non-Resident Member requests a transfer to his or her former Resident Membership status, such Member shall be required to pay all assessments which may have been levied during the interval of time that such Member was in Non-Resident Membership status. Such a Member, when requesting a transfer to such former status as a Resident Member, shall be given preference on the waiting list of the Club if there are no vacancies in such Membership classification, provided that such member is otherwise qualified as above stated for such Resident Membership. Any new Resident Member may, within two years of being admitted to Resident Membership, be expelled for any reason, at the Board’s discretion and upon the majority vote of the Board, without regard to the provisions of Section 16 of this Article. Such Resident Member shall, at the Board’s discretion, forfeit his or her initiation fee and all dues, fees, and assessments previously paid to the Club. Section 4. Non-Resident Members. Any Member in any category described herein may apply to the Board of Directors to become a Non-Resident Member if said Member’s principal residence is outside the State of Colorado (as determined by the Member’s principal residence for state income tax purposes). The Board of Directors may grant such applications in its discretion and may make such special rules from time to time as it deems necessary, which shall be applicable to all such Non-Resident Members Section 5. Surviving Spouses. Surviving Spouses of deceased Members desiring to continue to use the facilities of the Club shall be required to make application to the Board of Directors for membership. No additional initiation fee shall be charged if such applicant is elected to membership, but he or she shall be required to pay all applicable fees, dues, and assessments associated with their membership or that of the deceased Member, and he or she shall be required to surrender forthwith any stock in The Cherry Hills Land Company or any proprietary interest in Cherry Hills Country Club belonging to his or her deceased spouse.
